| Dr. Adam J. Ball was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. He graduated from the University of Miami in December of 1994 with a B.S. in Microbiology/Immunology. He elected to remain in Miami and subsequently received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in May of 1999. Dr. Ball completed his surgical internship (2000) and his residency in urology and urologic surgery (2004) at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami School of Medicine. He was co-Chief Resident during 2003-2004. The following year was spent in Norfolk, Virginia where Dr. Ball completed an elective one-year fellowship with Devine-Tidewater Urology and the Eastern Virginia School of Medicine, where he sub-specialized in minimally-invasive surgery, stone disease and laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery. Dr. Ball was appointed Clinical Instructor at the Eastern Virginia School of Medicine during this year. Being from Florida, Dr. Ball relocated to the Treasure Coast and, with his partner Scott Van Appledorn, established Gulfstream Urology Associates, PA. The practice is located in Ft. Pierce and serves the urologic needs for patients living in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties. The doctors are on staff at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute in Ft. Pierce. This hospital was the location of the first da Vinci radical prostatectomy, performed by the two partners, on the Treasure Coast in September of 2005. Dr. Ball has been happily married for 10 years to wife Cristina. They attended college together at the University of Miami. They have 2 young children When time permits, Dr. Ball enjoys family activities such as boating, fishing and golf. |
